How to Wear AIVELA for More Reliable Data
Wear AIVELA RING PRO snugly enough to stay stable, but never so tightly that it restricts circulation or causes numbness. Keep the inner sensing surface in consistent contact with the underside of your finger, complete wear calibration, and wear the ring through your main sleep whenever possible. Clean, dry contact and regular synchronization matter just as much as choosing the right finger. Reliable wear does not guarantee that every metric will be available, but it gives each measurement the clearest possible starting point.
Choose a fit that is secure, not tight
The ring should remain stable during ordinary movement and should not rotate freely around your finger. At the same time, it should feel comfortable and should not cause pressure, numbness, tingling, pain, or visible swelling.
Finger size changes with temperature, hydration, exercise, sleep, and time of day. If possible, test your size through a normal day and overnight rather than judging it from a brief fitting.
A useful fit check:
- the ring stays in place during normal hand movement;
- the inner surface remains in contact with the skin;
- removing it requires gentle effort but does not feel painful;
- your finger remains comfortable when it is warmer or slightly swollen;
- you can wear it through sleep without numbness or pressure.
A ring that slides or spins easily may lose contact. A ring that is too tight can be uncomfortable and is not a better measurement strategy.
Which finger should you use?
The index finger is recommended for biometric tracking and convenient use of Touch Mode. The middle or ring finger can also be used for everyday wear when the fit is more comfortable, although reaching the touch area may be less convenient.
The best finger is the one that gives you stable, comfortable contact across both day and night. If one finger becomes uncomfortable or the ring becomes loose as temperature changes, another suitable finger may provide a better fit.
Avoid forcing the ring onto a swollen finger. If it becomes difficult to remove, address that promptly rather than waiting for discomfort to increase.
Keep the ring in the correct position
Position the ring so that:
- the inner sensing surface maintains contact with the underside of your finger;
- the black diamond-shaped touch area is positioned where your thumb can reach it comfortably;
- the ring does not rotate away from this orientation during normal movement or sleep.
Correct orientation helps the ring maintain consistent contact and supports both biometric tracking and Touch Mode. Check the position again after washing your hands, exercise, applying skin products, or any activity that may cause the ring to turn.
Complete wear calibration
Wear calibration helps AIVELA distinguish between worn and unworn states.
In the App:
- Open My Ring.
- Select the wear-calibration feature.
- Put the ring on in the correct position.
- Follow the on-screen steps until the App confirms success.
If calibration does not complete, check the fit and orientation, clean and dry the inner surface and your skin, confirm that the ring is connected and charged, and try again away from strong direct light.
Calibration supports reliable wear detection, but it does not override poor contact later. Fit and orientation still matter each time you wear the ring.
Prioritize your main sleep
Consistent wear during your main sleep supports the widest range of AIVELA insights, including:
- sleep start and end times, duration, efficiency, and estimated stages;
- Calm and Balance;
- nighttime resting heart rate, HRV, respiratory rate, stable average blood oxygen, and skin-temperature patterns;
- the personal baselines that make later comparisons more individual.
Try to put the ring on before sleep rather than after you expect to have fallen asleep, and keep it on until the main sleep period is complete. Removing it for a large part of the night can leave some results delayed, incomplete, or unavailable.
One interrupted night does not erase your baseline. Resume normal wear the next time you can.
Daytime wear helps complete the activity picture
Motion develops from activity across the calendar day. Removing the ring for long periods can create gaps in steps, active time, prolonged inactivity, energy estimates, and workout context.
There are also times when removing a ring is the safer or more practical choice—for example, activities involving machinery, situations where jewelry could catch, some contact sports, or an exercise that causes discomfort. Safety comes before continuous data. If the product allows it, record the workout or add context rather than risking injury for a complete chart.
Keep the ring and your skin clean and dry
Residue, moisture, lotion, soap, and debris can affect contact and comfort.
- Clean the ring with a soft, lint-free cloth.
- When needed, use a cloth lightly dampened with clean water.
- Dry the ring and your finger thoroughly before wearing or charging it.
- Keep the inner sensing surface and charging contacts free of residue.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners, alcohol, solvents, and harsh chemicals.
After water exposure, check that the skin under the ring is dry. Trapped moisture can irritate the skin even when the ring itself is functioning normally.
Build charging into a natural gap
Nighttime wear is especially valuable, so choose a regular daytime moment for charging—such as while showering, getting ready, or sitting at a desk—when removing the ring is less likely to interrupt a meaningful activity or sleep period.
Before charging, make sure the ring, charging contacts, and case are clean and completely dry. Confirm that the ring is seated correctly and charging has begun. Do not charge wet equipment.
Battery use varies with settings and behavior. Check the battery before sleep rather than relying on a fixed routine that may not fit every day.
Wearing and synchronizing are both part of the process
The ring can collect data, but the App still needs to receive and process it.
Open the AIVELA App regularly while the ring is connected. Keep the ring near the phone until synchronization finishes, and allow additional processing time for sleep and nighttime metrics. Pull down on the home screen to refresh when needed.
If data has not appeared, check:
- whether the ring shows as connected;
- whether it has enough battery;
- whether the phone has internet access;
- whether the relevant sleep or activity period was worn long enough;
- whether synchronization and processing have completed.
If a result is still missing
A missing metric does not always mean that the entire night or day was lost. Different measurements have separate quality requirements, so one can be available while another is not.
Start with the simplest steps: confirm fit and orientation, clean and dry the contact surface, synchronize again, and repeat wear calibration if the App suggests it or contact remains unreliable. If the same metric stays unavailable after several normally worn periods, contact AIVELA Support.
Do not tighten the ring beyond comfort or wear it continuously through unsafe activities in an attempt to force a result. Better data begins with safe, sustainable wear.
Listen to your skin and your hand
Remove the ring if you experience persistent redness, swelling, numbness, pain, or irritation. Clean and dry both the ring and your skin before considering wearing it again. If symptoms continue, stop wearing the ring and consult a qualified healthcare professional.
Do not rely on AIVELA for emergency monitoring. If you feel unwell or have concerning symptoms, use appropriate medical services rather than waiting for a wearable result.
The most useful ring is one you can wear safely, comfortably, and consistently—not one you endure for the sake of an uninterrupted graph.
